Paul Fauteux

Part-time Board Member

Mr. Fauteux holds a Licence en Droit (LL.L) from the Université de Montréal as well as a master’s degree in law from McGill University. He also holds the Diploma of the Hague Academy of International Law. He has been a member of the Quebec Bar Association since 1980.

Mr. Fauteux worked for the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade and participated in the negotiation of over 50 international agreements. He was later the director general of Environment Canada’s Climate Change Bureau and the director general of lands at Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada. He has been a member of the board of directors of the Institut de médiation et d’arbitrage du Québec since 2013. He has extensive experience as a negotiator and mediator to companies and individuals and as an external mediator for the Public Service Labour Relations and Employment Board of Canada.

Mr. Fauteux was appointed as a part-time member of the Board on September 28, 2018, for a three-year term.
